- Advanced/smart/bio-inspired nonwoven-based product innovation
(filtration, personal care, individual protection, thermal & phonic insulation, biocomposites, fashion/clothing, architecture and interior design, medical…) - Advanced characterization techniques for nonwoven structures via image analysis (fiber diameter distribution, fiber spatial distribution « uniformity, covering ratio, regularity », pore shape and size distribution, fiber-to-fiber contacts estimation, bicomponent fiber splitting/fracturing ratio, fiber length transfer ratio during needlepunching…)
- Design support tools for multifunctional nonwovens products and processes (Design factors relevance, operation setting spaces, global/hierarchical evaluation of prototypes…)
- Study of property/structure/fiber and structure/process/polymer relations
