Sainan WEI, visiting researcher
We are delighted to welcome Ms Sanai WEI, professor in the Department of Textile Engineering, Faculty of Textiles and Clothing, Hebei University of Science and Technology, China.
Ms WEI has been officially welcomed to ENSAIT as a visiting researcher since 24 July 2025. She will be hosted by François Boussu until 12 October.
She obtained her PhD in textile engineering from Tianjin Polytechnic University and has been working in the Department of Textile Engineering at the Faculty of Textiles and Clothing at Hebust University since November 2006.
While her teaching focuses on industrial textiles, high-performance fibres, marketing and fashion English, her research specialises in flexible fabrics that absorb electromagnetic waves, multispectral and stealth camouflage fabrics, nickel-based absorbent composites and the evaluation of fabric surface hairiness.
She presented her research at the end of September during the laboratory meeting. Her presentation will focus in particular on fabrics that absorb electromagnetic waves and on testing/evaluating the surface hairiness of fabrics.
Hebei University of Science and Technology (which sounds almost the same as the city of Roubaix) is located in Shijiazhuang, the capital of Hebei Province (about 300 kilometres from Beijing). It has more than 28,000 full-time students and over 2,200 teachers and staff members.
