- Description of the thesis: Nonwoven fibrous structures offer cost-effective and sustainable solutions for transportation due to their mechanical and acoustic properties. However, their deformability under tensile loading or preforming in RTM remains poorly understood. This thesis investigates the mechanical behavior of needle-punched nonwovens from flax or recycled carbon fibers, focusing on failure mechanisms (e.g., tearing) during forming.
